There are 30 Disney World Hotels on Walt Disney World property that are broken up into 3 categories: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. Disney World also includes additional deluxe hotels and resorts that are not owned and operated by Disney World, hotels and resorts owned and operated by others, and campgrounds as well.
Value Resort Hotels
There are 5 resort hotels in the Value category. The Value category generally means the hotels that cost the least per night. These hotels are good for smaller families (holds up to 4 adults) and those that want to spend less on the hotel room and more on other experiences. We have stayed at all of these hotels multiple times. They all have fun theming with swimming pools and food court options.

This is the only value resort that also has family suites that can hold 6 adults. Although this hotel is in the value category the family suites will cost more so make sure to pay attention to that. If you want to pay the lower price like other value resorts you would need to stay in the Little Mermaid rooms
This hotel is on the Skyliner which gives easy and quick access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

Moderate Resort Hotels
There are 4 resort hotels in the Moderate category. The Moderate category generally have larger rooms, a table service restaurant at the resort, and a slide at the pool. Most of the rooms hold up to 4 adults. We have stayed at all of these resorts as well and like them just as much as the Value resorts.

Coronado has two sections, the first is the Village which has different buildings around the water and the other is the Gran Destino Tower. In general the rooms in the tower are more expensive.

There are 8 resort hotels in the Deluxe category. The Deluxe category generally have larger rooms, a table service restaurant at the resort, and a slide at the pool. Many of the rooms hold up to 5 adults with many of the resorts have additional categories that can hold up to 8 adults. We have stayed at a few of these and they are great for a split stay (a few days at a value or moderate and a few days at a deluxe).

Deluxe Villas
Many of the resorts in the Deluxe category also include Villas, in some cases such as Wilderness Lodge there are multiple sections of Villas. In most cases Villas are part of Disney Vacation Club, however, anyone can book a room at these hotels. Villas generally have multiple rooms along with a kitchen, living room, dining area, along with a washer and dryer. Many sleep more than 4 adults and are great for larger parties especially if you want or need to cook or prepare food at your resort.

The benefits of each hotel vary, however, they do not include Disney transportation or early entry access like Disney hotels do. Depending on what you are looking for these hotels might be better suited for you, however, they are not necessarily less expensive especially compared to the hotels in the Value category above. Finally there is The Campsites at Fort Wilderness Resort if you are looking for a more outdoorsy experience.

There are many hotels in the Disney Springs area from a variety of national brands that you can choose from. If you are only here for a day or two before or after a cruise these are great options (we have done this before a cruise), they allow you to be close to Disney World and Disney Springs without staying at one of the Disney hotels.
